“San Guglielmo Duca d’Aquitania prefigures the beauty and intensity of Pergolesi’s final work, the famous Stabat Mater. And what better justification for its performance! The oratorio includes comic elements, and a battle against the forces of evil, with the Devil and the Angel each trying to win over Guglielmo’s soul.

This rare work, with its remarkable educational virtues, seems to me to be a very appropriate project for the young singers of the Académie du Festival d’Aix-en- Provence.
