Johann Sebastian Bach

Bach sonatas

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)

Sonatas for viola da gamba and harpsichord BWV 1027, 1028, 1029

Viola da gamba : Philippe Pierlot
Harpsichord : Christophe Rousset

Christophe Rousset is not only a conductor but he is also and first of all one of the best harpsichordists at the moment. However his instrument is very important and he needs to combine his career as a soloist and as a musical director.

He has performed on the most famous historical harpsichords in the world and he has always been keen on discovering new rare instruments.

His complete harpsichord works of Couperin, Rameau, d’Anglebert and Forqueray and his interpretations of works by J.-S. Bach (Partitas, Goldberg Variations, English Suites, French Suites, Klavierbüchlein für Wilhelm Friedemann) are considered as references.
